Short Description:

White acicular or tabular crystals or powders. The melting point is 135 ℃. Odorless, slightly sour. It is stable in dry air and slowly hydrolyzed to salicylic acid and acetic acid in humid air. It is soluble in ethanol, ether and chloroform, slightly soluble in water, soluble in alkali hydroxide solution or alkali carbonate solution, but decomposed at the same time. 1g of the product can be dissolved in 300ml water, 5ml alcohol, 10-15ml ether or 17ml chloroform.
