White crystal. Melting point 125 ℃, soluble in general organic solvents (such as acetone, benzene, dimethylformamide, ethanol, polyethylene glycol, etc.), slightly soluble in water (at 25 ℃, 1.5g in 100g water). Its aqueous solution is relatively stable in acidic condition and easy to hydrolyze in alkaline condition. The dissolution rate can be greatly accelerated by increasing the pH value, heating and ultraviolet or fluorescent irradiation. It is easy to be debrominated by reducing agents, such as hydrogen sulfide, and becomes non-toxic cyanoacetic amine, which greatly reduces the bactericidal rate. When the pH value changes from 6.7 to 9.7, the half-life also changes from 37.0h to 0.11h.
